In Ghost Whisperer Season 5 Episode 5 entitled Cause for Alarm, we meet Nathan – a geek/brilliant software genius. Now in his early 40’s, he’s been at the cutting edge of technology for years and is mega-rich. He runs his company, employees and all, out of his mansion and keeps the place casual and hip in order to foster creativity. Nathan himself isn’t all that casual though. His life is one of loneliness and paranoia. As the release date for his new software is getting closer, his nerves start getting the best of him and he enlists Eli to help him get through this traumatic time. He admits to Eli that he thinks the ghost of his sister is haunting him.
Watching through Ghost Whisperer SE0505, it’s eventually discovered that the ghost isn’t his sister but that of an old girlfriend, Amy. Before they broke up, Amy never told Nathan that she was pregnant with his son. She raised her son with another man. Amy recently died of breast cancer and is now afraid that her grown son will do something to harm Nathan.
A trusted programmer of Nathans is trying to figure out from the security audio who the intruders are in the mansion. He is focused and yet angry. Could he be the son Nathan never knew about?
Also in Ghost Whisperer Cause for Alarm, Melinda and Jim have their hands full with their own son, Aiden. He is starting to mention that he is trying to help his new friends… and they aren’t ghosts.
