Are there heads on the chopping block on Grey’s Anatomy: Season 6 Episode 5: Invasion?
Here’s ABC’s official Episode Synopsis on SE0605 Invasion:
It’s Day 1 of the Seattle Grace-Mercy West merger, and residents react as though their jobs are on the line. They are, especially Izzie’s. Meanwhile, Callie’s father (Hector Elizondo) gets a priest to urge her to date men. Callie’s enraged, and Arizona stands by her.
There’s a ton of mysterious fun here – will we really be losing a lovable resident from Seattle Grace?
You have to wonder, as much as they’re blowing it up, if it’s Izzie’s position that is threatened here because the writers needed to allow Kathryn Hegl to spend more time off-set with her newly adopted daughter?
Lexie’s position is also threatened and look for the introduction of some fresh blood… poor choice of words… new doctors to add some spice to the pumpkin-smashing fest.
The strongest clue to a TV spoiler on Greys Anatomy S06E05, is that Michael Ausiello (of the Ausiello Files) mentions that Alex and Izzie, “Will be dealt a major blow,” and also said Hegl will, “disappear,” over the next few weeks and that he knew a, “mini-hiatus,” was coming.
That sounds like Izzie draws the short straw.
Plus, what’s up with Callie’s father? I guess it’s an old school idea although it seems like bringing a priest in is comparing Callie to Linda Blair in The Exorcist and that just seems wrong.
