On Grey’s Anatomy Season 6, Episode 7 called, Invest in Love, ABC gave this press release:
Arizona faces a conflict of interest over a 10-year-old patient whose rich parents are planning to donate $25 million to the hospital. Meanwhile, Cristina tests her boundaries with Owen at the hospital; and Alex must deal with Izzie’s hospital bills.
I hope Grey’s Anatomy SE0607 doesn’t try to get into some inane political stance about health care.
It’s a big deal but why would it be ignored for all of Medical Drama History until now?
Don’t these things usually go that some panic-stricken father/husband takes hostages to get the medical treatment his loved one needs?
Doesn’t the hospital staff get some sort of employee discount? Don’t they offer a comprehensive benefit program at Seattle Grace?
Not to mention the fact, according to the title, “Invest in Love,” there seems to be a price tag of $25 million dollars to save a boy’s life.
You’ve got to figure that there must be something else going on there because I don’t see a conflict of interest when it comes to saving a life.
You save a life if you can save a life, no matter what the parents are giving to the hospital.
$25 million dollars.
I wonder what the co-pay is on that.
Grey’s Anatomy S06 E07: Invest in Love is scheduled to air November 5, 2009
