This is the CBS synopsis for How I Met Your Mother, Season 5 Episode 8 called, The Playbook:
After breaking up with Robin, Barney jumps back into the dating scene with the classic moves from his “Playbook,” on How I Met Your Mother.
We saw Barney and Robin break up and remain friends on The Rough Patch and now it’s time for those two to move on.
Lily arranges for a second-grade teacher named Shelly, to meet Ted on a blind date.
Four drinks into his wait, Ted gets a text and leaves.
Ted tells Lily that Shelly stood him up and that he turned down the invites of several women because he was waiting for Shelly.
When confronted, Shelly confesses to Lily that she met the most amazing guy at the bar an hour before she was supposed to meet Ted.
It turns out that Barney, masquerading as Lorenzo Von Matterhorn (really?) made a scoring play for Shelly and Lily is furious.
The next play in the Playbook is to find a woman that is waiting for someone special…
Will we see Barney pretending that he has never been with a woman in HIMYM S05E08?
How far will he go to get into a sorority house?
Will Marshall help him with what would be the best-selling e-book of all time if he was willing to give up his secrets?
Also in HIMYM SE0508, keep an eye out at the end because it’s quite possible that Robin meets her “someone,” that could keep her anchored for some time… pun intended.
