Now that you’re here for the Iron Man Spoiler, let’s just get straight into it, shall we?
Summary of the movie Iron Man:
The movie starts off with Tony Stark (who is played by Robert Downey Jr) riding in a military vehicle before it is attacked by terrorists. All of the soldiers seem to get killed and Stark makes a run for it. While he is trying to text message someone on his cell phone, a missile made by his company Stark Enterprise appears right next to him before exploding through his armored chest piece knocking him unconscious.
He is then captured and taken as a hostage.
Now we flashback a few months earlier so the audience can see what took place before his eventual capture. To sum it up, he was supposed to accept an award which he didn’t show up for the ceremony… he slept with a hot reporter… we are introduced to James Rhodes (played by Terrence Howard), Pepper Potts which is Starks’ assistant (played by Gwyneth Paltrow) and Obadiah Stane (played by Jeff Bridges).
Starks gave a weapons presentation to the military and soon after is where he gets kidnapped.
This is where the movie credits start rolling.
Starks awakes in an unknown cave where cords attached to his heart connected to a car battery. He is then greeted by Yinsen (played by Shaun Toub) who was in the same cave as a captive. He was the one who attached Starks to the car battery that would keep him alive and the little pieces of the missile from entering his heart.
After the terrorists threaten Stark to build the Jericho missile, Starks eventually agrees. The promise is the fact they would let him go after building it but in reality, they weren’t going to let him live after.
But instead of building the promised missile, Starks first build an arc reactor so he can get rid of the car battery that is keeping him alive. Then, him and Yinsen figures they would find a way to escape. This is where Starks build the first Iron Man model (the Mark I which is also known as “diving bell” in the 1960s Iron Man comic book series).
As Starks and Yinsen are adding the finishing touches to activate the suit, the terrorists start to storm the work area because they see something fishy going on. Of course, it took quite sometime for the suit to generate it’s power so Yinsen decides he would help Starks buy more time.
As a few of the terrorists try to open the steel cage holding Starks and Yinsen prisoners, they get awakened to a bomb attached.
That sends off and the rest of the terrorists come for backup.
Yinsen grabs one of the guns and starts shooting off while scaring some until he runs into the backup.
The Mark I suit is finally powered up and Starks raises havoc.
As Starks kills just about everyone that was in the cave, he finds Yinsen almost dead. Yinsen, in his dying breaths, tells Starks not to waste his life.
Starks takes those words to heart.
He gets out of the cave, blows up a lot of artillery and just as the fire he’s taking starts to knock him down, he launches off and escapes.
He crashes somewhere in the desert when Rhodes and a rescue team finds him.
Starks gets saved and now he’s back…
The first thing he does is coordinates a news conference and announces he is shutting down the weapons section of his company. That sends everyone into a frenzy. His company’s stocks drop drastically and his board of trustees don’t approve and want him out.
We are officially introduced to an agent from S.H.I.E.LD. whom asks Potts to arrange for a meeting with Starks to debrief him.
Obadiah, which is a head partner of the Starks company, tells him to lay low while he tries to fix everything.
The time Starks had to lay low, he decides he would start a special project to build off of the Mark I model of Iron Man. That leads to him building the Mark II version (all-chrome version).
He tries to recruit Rhodes to join him but he passes his time around.
After various tests of the suit, Starks takes it out for a ride. Soon after he returns, he finds out there’s a party being thrown for him which he wasn’t invited to.
While he decides he won’t stay low anymore, he figured he’d crash his own party. As he leaves, he gets Jarvis (his home computer system) to paint his new suit which ends up being the final version of the suit – the Mark III which is the gold and red design.
Starks arrives at the party and we see Iron Man creator, Stan Lee, who Starks mistakes him for Hugh Hefner.
At the party, Starks meets the same agent from S.H.I.E.L.D. that was at the news conference and he sets up a meeting.
Starks finds out a few things at the party, that his company has been dealing under the table to terrorists and the fact that Obadiah has been the one doing it. He is the same person who wanted Starks kicked out of the company.
Starks gets mad, suits up and flies over to the same area where his weapons are being sold under the table to. He saves a bunch of people, blows a lot of things up and gets caught up by the military which chases him.
Rhodes finds out Starks is the man in the suit.
Soon after, we find out that Obadiah is the one who had the terrorists kidnap Starks to have him killed. Obadiah wanted to take over the company so he needed him out.
Obadiah goes to the head terrorist, kills him, steals the blueprints to the original suit Starks built and has a big one built for himself except it was missing one thing – the arc reactor that was powering up the suit.
Potts finds out about this by going through company files. Obadiah finds out she now knows and has to do something.
He ambushes Starks with a crippling device, steals Starks arc reactor from his chest and leaves.
Potts warns Rhodes about Obadiah and has him go check on Starks. Once he gets there, Starks managed to put in his backup arc reactor and he jumps in his suit and goes after Obadiah.
Potts gets some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and goes after Obadiah. Obadiah then jumps into his built suit and starts causing havoc on everyone.
The final battle…
Obadiah fights Starks in their suits and what ends it is the fact that Starks had Potts overload the buildings arc reactor that basically kills Obadiah.
At the end, during a news conference, Starks reveals to the world that he is the Iron Man.
The credits roll… but if you stay until after the credits, you get introduced to Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) of the S.H.I.E.L.D. and they talk about forming a team… which will eventually be the Avengers.
