The Episode Synopsis for Bones: Season 5 Episode 6:The Tough Man in the Tender Chicken from TV Guide reads as follows:
When the remains of an heir to a controversial chicken farm turn up on a riverbank, a murder suspect may be found in the deceased’s long list of enemies, including animal-rights activists and disgruntled neighbors.
So, I guess what we’re looking at is the dark meat…err – dark side – of a Perdue-type of heir.
Even though Frank Perdue seems like a cool guy, some recent news broadcasts which featured some gruesome YouTube vids on how chicks are handled and destroyed (NOT in a Perdue plant, but in a completely different company) were enough to put a damper on anyone’s next visit to Popeye’s Chicken.
Really, when you think about how many Chicken McNuggets we were raised on, it sort of seems that we were all part of a sinister, Soylent Green is Chicken! kind of corporate plot.
The synopsis for Bones SE0506 also mentioned, “disgruntled neighbors.” Oh, has anyone ever been to a chicken farm?
My parents used to buy their eggs fresh off of the local farm and while looking at the chicks was fun when I was 5 years old, the stench nearly did me in.
I can imagine that any neighbor of a chicken farmer is less than thrilled with their dwellings on certain windy days.
I doubt however that even after I watch Tough Man in the Tender Chicken that I will be giving up poultry for good.
Even my parrots love to eat chicken.
They’ve never told me what it tastes like to them though.
Bones Season 05 Episode 06, The Tough Man in the Tender Chicken is tentatively scheduled to air Thursday, November 5, 2009 on the Fox Network.
If the World Series extends to a Game 7, SE0506 will air November 12th and a repeat will be put in on the 5th instead.
