“Slapsgiving 2: Revenge of the Slap” – Barney freaks out when Marshall bequeaths a “slap bet” slap to Ted and Robin. Meanwhile, Lily’s estranged father shows up for Thanksgiving.
Chris Elliott has made a career of playing annoying grubs and as Lily’s estranged father on How I Met Your Mother SE0509, his acting range hasn’t expanded one iota.
He’s the guy that moves back in with his parents in his middle-aged years not because he wants to be a caregiver, but because he never got out of the 70’s.
The guy still borrowing money to try and get his dream business off the ground but never seems to put more than a few hours of effort into it in a month.
The guy that horrified his daughter with his behavior and always thought it was her problem and not his.
Watch on HIMYM S05E09 for Lily’s, “You’re Dead to Me,” look as she turns those who have betrayed her to nothing more than dust, blowing away in the wind (even indoors).
Of course, also watch the fun of the “slap” antics as Barney worries about getting slapped again.

I personally can’t stand the Jason Segal/Marshall comedy songs, but that’s only because they’re usually more stupid than funny and his singing is more belting than vocal and his piano playing is worse.
Watch them tie it all together with one contrived outcome.
